Services Offered
Overview
WCCC provides work crews of 6-10 young adults for conservation projects with various land management agencies. Crews are turnkey operations dedicated to getting the job done. They fill the “third workforce” niche that many agencies find necessary for successful project management.
Potential projects need to have a long-term environmental impact, provide educational potential for crew members, and the work must be meaningful and fulfilling. The sponsor is responsible for the funding to support the crew for the duration of a given project.
Types of Projects
The Western Colorado Conservation Corps provides services for a numer of conservation projects. The most common types of projects we work on are listed below, but if you have a conservation project unlike what we’ve done before, contact us as we would love to expand our conservation works:
- Trail building & maintenance
- Invasive plant species removal such as Tamarisk & Russian Olive
- Habitat restoration
- Fire fuels mitigation
- Erosion control
- Fence construction and maintenance
- Campground maintenance
