ABOUT THE AREA

Where we serve

From alpine peaks to desert valleys, we serve in some of the most diverse locations in the United States.

Western Colorado's geography spans from 14,000' high mountain peaks, to deep canyons in the Colorado Plateau. WCCC crews are based in the urban centers of Grand Junction and Gunnison, Colorado, and venture out on a wide variety of projects in Mesa, Delta, Montrose, and Gunnison counties.  A typical season with the WCCC may have a crew partnering with the USFS, BLM, NPS, local governments, and other land managers.

Most WCCC Corpsmembers receive three weeks of advanced training in recreational trail development, chainsaw operations, fence building, and other technical skills.

They're prepared for their project on a Moutain Bike trail in Crested Butte one week, and they're prepared for riparian restoration with the Dolores River Restoration Partnership in Gateway, Colorado the following week.

Conditions, weather, and views vary tremendously.

Our land managers are our partners, that's why we ensure quality project management.

Corpsmember development is our priority, so we collaborate with national service experts.
